Il circolo è sotto l'egida del CONI, affiliato alla FIV e alla FIPSAS: Federazione Pesca Sportiva ed Attività Subacquee.
Lo Yacht Club del Mediterraneo ha in concessione dall'Autorità portuale di Palermo, oltre agli spazi a terra per i locali del club e le attrezzature, uno specchio acqueo su un fronte di circa 100 mt di banchina, con una profondità d'acqua superiore ai 6 mt, che ci consente di ormeggiare imbarcazioni a motore o a vela fino a 25 mt.
